Little Bird - Poetry
If only I were a little bird
Who could puff their chest out proud.
If only I were a little bird
Who could fly high above the clouds.
Because if I were a little bird
With feathers bright and soft,
Then I would sail far from here
And live a life aloft.
If only I were a little bird,
I’d have no cares in the world.
If only I were a little bird
With no troubles to be unfurled.
Because if I were a little bird
With songs so sweet to hear,
Then I would sing the day away
And love this life so clear.
But I am not a little bird,
Instead a human so chained.
I am trapped inside this cage of mine,
The one that lies within this brain.
